Camp Lowden Patches

1976-1979

Patches from the "modern era" (1976 and later) where either a year is indicated or a year can be assigned by those with memories. In this case a, b, and c will denote variations within a year (e.g., between a "trader" patch and an "issued" patch). If needed, x,y, and z will denote slight variations among patches of the same type.

America celebrated its bicentennial in 1976, and presumably this is why a patch was created for that year (and also the basis for the 1977 patch). [A "spoof" (fake) 1976 patch also exists, so be careful when shopping on eBay, etc.]

1979
There were no patches specifically for 1978 and 1979. Steve Sarver's troop attended in 1979, and he recently discovered a photo from that year which clearly shows the 1977 patch with a 1979 "rocker" segement on top (the rockers were issued by the national office). The staff paddle for 1979 does not have a patch on it, but instead has the Northwoods logo carved on it (this was the second and final year of the "dual-staff" between the two camps).
